Mr. Coombs, while now practicing military law as a civilian, has been recognized as one of the best trial attorneys in the U.S. Army. He continues to represent the young WikiLeaks whistleblower, who was sentenced in late August to 35 years in military prison. He is pursuing legal appeals on the basis of prosecutorial misconduct, as well as a formal request that President Obama grant clemency. Mr. Coombs is also PVT Chelsea Manning’s primary advocate as she pursues hormone therapy at Ft. Leavenworth military prison for gender dysphoria.
The event is presented by Courage to Resist and Co-Sponsored by Common Good Cafe, Greater Seattle Veterans for Peace (VFP 92), G.I. Voice/Coffee Strong, and Fellowship of Reconciliation, Seattle Chapter. Funds will be collected by the Private Manning Support Network, to benefit ongoing defense efforts, including impending legal appeals.
The War on Whistleblowers must be stopped!
We hope to see you there. RSVP on facebook today!
