The day opens with a workshop on Grand Strategy & Creative Tactics presented by Bill Moyer of the Backbone Campaign. The workshop is an interactive presentation on the strategic use of Artful Activism to build movement power to transform society.
The afternoon session is focused on planning for a peaceful and dignified sit-in at the US Federal Courthouse in Tacoma, in order to send the message to President Obama and his administration that they must reject the Keystone XL pipeline.
We will prepare a team of people who are willing to risk arrest, and a team to provide vital support who will NOT risk arrest. In particular, we must skill-up and fill the critical roles of jail support and police liaison, because without them we cannot hold a successful civil disobedience action.
