InspireSeattle invites YOU to join us at our Social Forum: Saturday, June 8st at 6:30PM.
Main discussion topic for this evening: Who are the Real Moochers Among Us?
When Mitt Romney was running for president, he referenced that 47 percent of us who are moochers. John wrote an article that looks at who these “Moochers” are and how we should think about this topic in the state of Washington. Romney was only referring to federal income tax and that is only a small part of the discussion. In Washington State we have a regressive tax structure. John will explore the actual numbers that determine who pays “their share”.
Please join us for this important discussion!
Guest Speaker: John Burbank, Executive Director EOI
John Burbank has a Master of Public Administration from the Graduate School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington and a B.A. from Evergreen State College. Before founding EOI, John was project manager of the Sand Point Community Housing Association, political director of the Washington State Labor Council, staff coordinator for the Washington State Senate, and director for the Community Labor Coalition in Rhode Island. He speaks Finnish and has published in the Journal of Finnish Studies. John is a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance.
Come join us for what should be a very important and interesting evening!!!
