Is someone paying facebook to recommend conservative content?

Someone posted a link on facebook to the article Who Is Profiting From Charters? The Big Bucks Behind Charter School Secrecy, Financial Scandal and Corruption.

Below the article, in a section called “PEOPLE ALSO SHARED,” Facebook recommended (Audio) Sims: AL Dems proved they care more about the teachers’ union than educating children.

This often happens when I’m reading progressive content on facebook: the platform recommends content promoting conservative talking points.

It makes me wonder: is someone PAYING facebook to recommend such articles? Or is facebook just trying to add varied perspective?
