Jeb Bush to the rescue of the GOP?

Maureen Dowd in this blistering critique of the  GOP — Ghastly Outdated Party — quotes various Republicans who have condemned the extremism of the current batch of GOP presidential candidates.  For example, Dowd quotes Jeb Bush as saying,  “I used to be a conservative, and I watch these debates and I’m wondering, I don’t think I’ve changed, but it’s a little troubling sometimes when people are appealing to people’s fears and emotion rather than trying to get them to look over the horizon for a broader perspective.”  Joe Klein in Time Magazine also quotes Jeb Bush saying those words.

One gets the impression that Jeb Bush is being groomed to be a dark horse candidate for the GOP convention this summer.  Hard to imagine, though, voters will want to extend the Bush Dynasty beyond GWB.
