During the 2008 presidential campaign, many Democrats judged that Hillary Clinton was more pro-war than Barack Obama. Because of her association with her husband and with business interests, she seemed tainted by centrist corporatism.
On the other hand, she seemed more knowledgeable about health care and had had substantial national experience as first lady and in the US Senate.
Moreover, in view of President Obama’s compromising and forgiving stance towards Republicans, and because of Hillary’s first-hand experience of dirty-tricks that Republicans had inflicted on her and her husband, it’s reasonable to surmise that she would have been a more effective fighter for Democratic ideals. Perhaps she would have prosecuted Bush-era officials for their many criminal acts.
Do you think Hillary Clinton would have made a better president than Barack Obama?

I think Hillary probably would have been better at standing up to the Repulbicans and better on health care. But I suspect she’s as much of a centrist as President Obama.
